R4G LITE

I have 2 of these cameras as of right now and I’m giving it a four star rating purely because durning the set up process it is very difficult to use the camera in the app to scan the QR code , it doesn’t want to focus. Once you get it set up past that point they are excellent cameras

Very good quality camera for the price. Picture quality and setup are great. Some app settings could be a little more adjustable but overall these are great cameras

I bought 4 of the R4G LITE back July and gave an initial review shortly after, but 6 months of use I give these cameras 4 stars. Issues have been relatively minor except that 1 of the 4 cameras has stopped working. I noticed a lot of corrosion in the battery pack and the camera lights will turn on, buts that about it. I have not contacted Black Gate about this issue yet, but I will soon, and I'll give an update on my experience. If it wasn't for the broken camera, I would have given 5 stars. I ran these cameras over bait all year, and I woke up to hundreds of quality pictures every morning. One thing I noticed with these cameras is that after 6 months and thousands of pictures, I never saw a deer look at, or be spooked by the camera. Never once! I think this is a big deal, a very big deal. Bucks this year just seemed to come back day after day, instead of making an appearance once a week and starring at the camera the whole time. There was a time or two I know I walked past the cameras while in the woods, and never received a picture of myself. How often this happens is unknown but, I have come to expect this in all cameras no matter the brand. Maybe a spider was blocking the trigger mechanism lol? I put these 4 cameras in 6 different locations, and 5 of the locations worked fine, but one of the locations did not, due to no cell service. It did send a handful of pics in this location, but they were all several days old each time. Battery life could be better, but these cameras took a lot of pictures every day, so I won't hold that against them too much. I recently got solar panels for all of them hoping that would help but have not had a chance to try it out yet. I will be purchasing more in the future, along with the original R4G this year for the video ability.

Only used few weeks images great

The camera takes great, high quality pictures and the app is easy to set up. Lots of data plans to choose from. Love the duel sim card technology. However my only con is that the antenna is very floppy. It screws in tight to the camera, but remains floppy and can be difficult to position it upright.

I’m a new Black Gate trail camera user for about 1 week so far I’m very satisfied with the cam performance and plan to purchase another. I own the R4g lite as photos are adequate to me and especially considering the smaller size and less visually conspicuous the unit is compared to the larger build of the video capable unit.

Solid purchase thus far. Love the app and data it provides per pic. Price point is a big win here for such a high quality product. Fours stars rating as I feel while the setup was easy, navigation was clunky going in and out of the app and a browser to complete initial setup. Rolling this all in the app would improve user experience.

So far so good not terrible pictures. Service been good as I can tell. love the affordability wouldn't mind adding a few more.

So far the cameras have been great, I love the latest update that displays wind direction, speed, and pressure. Purchased 4 cameras 1 is not working but that may be due to me not setting it up correctly. So I would like to check on that before just blaming the camera, Going to go pick that one back up and see if it was a user issue. Great price point and quality of pics seems good. Overall very happy with my purchase.

The only reason i am giving four stars is because the directions could have been a little better. Otherwise a great camera. would purchase another one

Camera is great and easy to setup. Have had some issues with delayed transmission but it could be the area I have it in.

The picture quality is excellent. Better than most of not all of my other cameras.

Haven't had it long enough to give it 5 stars yet. So far though picture quality is as good as any other camera I have, super easy to set up and battery life seems good thus far for a cell camera. Would definitely buy again.
